Economic Revitalization in Existing Town Centers

For any Piedmont location looking to revamp their town center, take cue from Asheboro's Sustainable Design and Development Workshop, which brought citizens and community leaders together to explore the economic revitalization of its downtown. Instead of looking at the project as complete make over of downtown Asheboro, the group smartly identified strengths and weaknesses and decided to place improvements in already existing sites. By making strategic investments in places where infrastructure and community amenities already exist, Asheboro could reduce the cost of serving new growth while reusing and revitalizing existing downtown areas and surrounding neighborhoods.
